Introduction to MobileScan
 MobileScan is an innovative ServiceNow mobile app developed entirely by Ryne Campbell, a ServiceNow Developer, and Dakota Heath, a ServiceNow Technical Architect. At present, MobileScan supports real-time scanning of asset tag barcodes for both asset audits and asset intake. This allows for increased accuracy of asset information and responsiveness of tracked events and activities associated with the assets.

CFTC Success Story
MobileScan went live for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) on January 27, 2025.
MobileScan has significantly improved efficiency, resulting in approximately a 77% reduction in both time and labor costs. This improvement is expected to increase as users become more familiar with the application. One user reported, “Inventorying the 16 assets required only approximately 2 minutes. This was across two separate locations, resulting in the creation of two distinct audit entries. I could probably scan the whole floor in an hour.”

Future Plans and User Reception
Initial feedback from users has been incredibly positive, and the team looks forward to more feedback as users get accustomed to the new application. Future updates will aim to further enhance the solution’s capabilities. The development team is working on enhancements to include serial number barcode scanning. MobileScan is proving to be a game-changer in asset management, cutting costs, and increasing asset accuracy.
