Why We Built My Assets Validation

The application was designed with a simple goal: to automate and streamline the asset validation and inventory process, especially for organizations managing distributed or mobile workforces. 

Many IT teams struggle with manual, time-consuming tasks like checking asset status, tracking movements, and updating records. My Assets Validation solves these pain points with automation, barcode scanning, and flexible filtering capabilities, all powered by ServiceNow.

  • 🗂️ Advanced Filtering: Filter by asset type, location, model, state (e.g., in use, in stock), and more to quickly find and manage what you need. 

  • ✍️ Easy Updates: Edit asset records with just a few clicks. Assign devices to users, update locations, or modify any tracked fields. 

  • 🛠️ Custom Field Support: Have custom fields like “Inventory Date”? We support tailored rules so you can extend the platform to fit your environment. 

Live Demo Highlights

During the demo, we showed how teams can: 

  • Instantly scan a device and update its record 
  • Manually search and filter the asset database 
  • Perform batch updates or location-based queries (e.g., all laptops in Washington, D.C.) 
  • Use flexible filters for better insights into hardware in use, in stock, or retired 

All updates sync in real-time with the ServiceNow CMDB, improving accuracy and audit readiness. 

What’s Next for My Assets Validation

We’re currently rolling out an upgraded version of the application that includes: 

  • Enhanced stockroom location tracking Smarter scanning logic for dual-field lookups 
  • Even more customization flexibility

These new features are built with customer feedback in mind—helping IT teams not only manage assets, but do it smarter.
